Darshan Activity Report – September 2020 – Report 2

Despite the COVID related disruptions, and the start of routine Clinic work, Academic activities continued in September 2020, and Dr Srinivas K Rao took part in the following webinars in the first half of September 2020.

On the same day – Saturday, after the morning Webinar conducted by RIOGOH, Dr Rao was invited to share his expertise in Ocular Surface Staining at the Kera-Connect Meet conducted by the Cornea Society of India, of which he is the Founding President. The Ocular Surface suffers from many problems, and one important way in which these can be diagnosed and monitored is the use of Vital stains to study surface. Dr Rao discussed the various dyes used for this purpose and the ideal way to interpret the results. The meeting was attended by over 300 Corneal specialists from all over India, and was well received. Darshan Eye Care has recently acquired the Systemi Surface Analyzer from Italy, to perform advanced screening and analysis of various problems affecting the Ocular Surface. The device is able to provide a composite report that addresses all of the problems, helping plan appropriate treatment.
