Darshan Activity Report – September 2020 – Report 1

Despite the COVID related disruptions, and the start of routine Clinic work, Academic activities continued in September 2020, and Dr Srinivas K Rao took part in the following webinars in the first half of September 2020.

1. September 5, 2020

Webinar conducted by the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Egmore, Chennai. Dr Rao was invited to lecture to the audience on the Management of Meibomean Gland Dysfunction in Dry Eye Disease. Darshan Eye Care recently acquired the E-Eye device for Intense Regulated Pulsed Light (IRPL) therapy – a new approach to the management of this chronic and often distressing condition. It is a simple out-patient treatment lasting about 15 minutes. Over 75 patients have been treated at Darshan Eye Care with this approach, with excellent results. Darshan Eye Care is one of the first centres to use this treatment approach for Meibomean Gland Disease.
