Sunayana Laser Vision Center opens its doors in Chennai

Ophthalmology is currently a very technology intensive speciality. Advanced imaging options for the eye exist and these have enhanced the level of care considerably. However, such advances come at a significant cost . Such sophisticated equipment is expensive and often difficult to procure and maintain – by an individual ophthalmologist.

Dr Srinivas K Rao, along with other like minded ophthalmologists, pioneered a unique concept in patient care – a stand alone, shared, diagnostic facility with the latest equipment for ocular imaging. DARSHAN EYE CLINIC is a fully equipped diagnostic center, which has facilities for laser surgery, glaucoma evaluation, digital fundus fluorescein angiography, complete corneal evaluation, photography of both the front and back of the eye, evaluation of children and their ocular problems, and a fully equipped contact lens clinic – with the Rose K lens.

However, in order to expand its options, Dr Srinivas K Rao pioneered the concept of a shared diagnostic center – along with other eye docs. This center – Sunayana – in addition to the equipment already at Darshan, will also have the OCT – an advanced imaging system for the eye. The center also plans to start a LASIK unit in the very near future.
