Complicated Cataract surgery during Kolkata visit by Dr Rao
Dr Rao visits Sunetra Eye Center in Kolkata, once in two months to examine and manage patient s with difficult corneal problems.
During his recent visit in July, there was also a patient with a complicated cataractproblem – a cataractous lens that had shifted from its normal position. Dr Rao perform cataract surgery and lens implantation in the patient – using advanced surgical techniques, for a good result.

The cataractous lens in the picture above shows that the lens is shifted from its natural position and the edge of the lens is seen in the center of the eye.
Surgery in such lenses is a challenge, because the natural supports are weak and removing the cataract can be difficult. Also, placing the intraocular lens can be a problem.
