Anterior Segment OCT is an investigation which is performed using the same OCT machine available at Darshan, used for diagnosing retinal disorders. It allows for non contact examination of a multitude of corneal and anterior segment pathologies while avoiding the need for an invasive examination. The anterior segment OCT helps reduce examination and patient turnover time by producing fast and accurate diagnostic images of the anterior chamber of the eye (which includes Cornea, Angles of the anterior chamber, iris and the crystalline lens). The machine also allows us to visualise structures that are obscured by pre existing media opacities such as corneal scars.
