Dear Prof. Rao,
Re: Certificate of Appreciation for Serving the APJO Editorial Board (2018 – 2019)
We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your unfailing support and contributions made to APJO. It has been our real privilege to work with you and other well-respected academicians in ophthalmology and visual sciences to help APJO get Medline, SCOPUS, and Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) indexed.
Starting from July 2019, APJO is the official joint publication of not only the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) but also the Academy of Asia-Pacific Professors of Ophthalmology (AAPPO). We have re-engaged with our original international publisher, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) after in-house publishing for 2.5 years. In order to position the journal to be even more international, we have added one more Editor-in-Chief from the international arena. We are really privileged to have Professor Jost Jonas joining us.
Although APJO is only having the ESCI status, we have made substantial progress in terms of the number of citations and the Estimated Impact Factor (EIF) in recent years. Based on the Web of Science database, our EIFs are 0.475, 0.985, and 1.738 in 2016, 2017, and 2018 respectively. We believe we have a very good chance to become SCI-indexed in the very near future.
As the term of our Editorial Board Members will expire very soon at the end of the year, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your service rendered to APJO, without which we wouldn’t be where we are today. A Certificate of Appreciation is attached in recognition of your efforts and contributions to APJO. We look forward to working closely together with you in the term of 2020-2021 to make APJO a journal that we will all be proud of!
Sincerely yours,
Dennis Lam, MD
