Keratoconus is a problem of young adults – with an abnormality in corneal shape.Until recently, the only solution was Corneal Transplantation.
Current techniques for the management of thi s condition include – the use of COLLAGENCROSS – LINKING for stiffening the cornea and preventing cone progression, and the use of special ROSE K contact lenses to allow perfect vision in KERATOCONUS. DALK – lamellar corneal surgery is also safer and more effective.
The Trioptics Meet was held at the GRT Hotel, Chennai.
The session on Cornea included talks on Keratoconus diagnosis and management.
Dr Rao spoke on his approach to the management of this corneal condition. Over 200 doctors attended the lecture and there was active audience interaction after the talk.
