Dr Srinivas K Rao was invited to Chair and speak on a session on “Infections in Ophthalmology”, conducted at the ITC Grand Chola, Chennai, on 12 May 2019.

 

He spoke on “Prevention of Infections after Cataract Surgery” and emphasized the importance of paying close attention to small details before, during, and after surgery.

 

He shared the protocols followed at Darshan Eye Care and Surgical Centre to ensure the same – with checklists and constant vigilance and monitoring.

 

Infection rates after cataract surgery reported by Institutions around the world are 0.03 to 0.15% – 3 to 15 infections for every 10,000 surgeries performed.

 

Darshan Eye Care and Surgical Centre is very proud that the infection rates here are less than those reported Internationally.The talk was attended by over 60 delegates and was very well received with requests to Dr Rao to share the presentation for their benefit.
