Keratoconus is a type of corneal ectasia where there is an uncontrolled bending and steepening of the corneal contour resulting in blurred vision, diplopia and corneal scarring. It is prevalent amongst the younger population, is commonly associated with hormonal imbalances, eye rubbing, ocular allergies, vitamin d3 deficiency and can sometimes also be genetically inherited.
