Keratoconus is a type of corneal ectasia

Keratoconus is a type of corneal ectasia where there is an uncontrolled bending and steepening of the corneal contour resulting in blurred vision, diplopia and corneal scarring. It is prevalent amongst the younger population, is commonly associated with hormonal imbalances, eye rubbing, ocular allergies, vitamin d3 deficiency and can sometimes also be genetically inherited. Darshan eye care offers customised treatment options for all forms of keratoconus. These include custom contact lenses (rose k, miniscleral, scleral and kerasoft lenses), corneal collagen cross linking, intra corneal ring segments, corneal transplantation (dalk/pk).
