Dr Srinivas K Rao delivers a two lectures at ERUDIO – a post graduate education program

Present day postgraduates are the ophthalmologists of the future. Recognizing this, Allergan Pharmahas organized a series of quiz programs across India. The winners from each state – 100 in all were invited to Hyderabad. The finals of the quiz was conducted here and the top 10 contestants were awarded prizes.

At this Meeting, they also listened to lectures in each subspecialty of Ophthalmology from experts in the field. Dr Rao was the only invitee to deliver lectures in 2 subspecialties – Cataract and Cornea.

The first recorded cataract surgery was by Susruta – in India, in the 6th century BC

Scientific Deliberations

The lecture on Corneal surgery traced the evolution of surgical techniques in this field over the past two decades.

Dr Rao shared his techniques in managing corneal conditions with the audience – many were interested in a career as a Corneal surgeon

In his lecture on Cataract surgery – Dr Rao traced the evolution of surgical techniques for the surgery of this common condition.

He also shared advanced techniques that he uses for managing, subluxed cataracts, cataracts in children, and secondary IOLs
