Postgraduate education on the important topic of Corneal Infections

Dr Rao has been invited by Sankara Hospitals in Coimbatore and Bangalore to head their center for Keratoprosthesis research.

He also visits Bangalore once a month to see and operate on patients with difficult corneal problems.

During his visit to the center in May, he conducted a CME on Corneal Infections for the PGs in Bangalore. The lecture was sent by videoconferencing to the centers in Coimbatore, Guntur and Krishnankoil.

CORNEAL INFECTIONS

A wide variety of pathogens – bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites and mixed infections can affect the cornea with serious implications for vision.

A good microbiologist is needed to help manage such patients and Dr Shobana – MD microbiology does this important job at Darshan.

With her expert help, Dr Rao is able to successfully treat patients referred to Darshan with advanced corneal infections.
