The Andhra Pradesh State Ophthalmic Society has instituted an annual oration and gold medal award for distinguished service in the field of ocular diseases – the RUSTOM RANJI ORATION.

This year the prestigious award has been given to DR SRINIVAS K RAO for his various contributions to the field of CORNEAL & CATARACT SURGERY and LASIK.

He will be travelling to Vijayawada in September to eliver his oration on “OCULAR SURFACE DISEASE MANAGEMENT – THE UNFINISHED JOURNEY” and receive the gold medal.

The talk will cover his experiences in managing patients with this difficult problem – accumulated during the past 20 years, both the medical and surgical aspects.

He will cover various aspects like lid surgery, the use of amniotic membranes, limbal stem cell transplantation, and the use of an artificial cornea.
