Darshan has launched it school screening program – at no cost to the children – to commemorate its first anniversary on 29th October 2007.

The first school to benefit is Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kilpauk. Over 600 children were screened, over a five-day period in the first week of November 2007, for refractive errors, squint, color vision, and depth perception abnormalities

One-third of the children were found to need further evaluation of their eyes. Darshan will be extending this service – termed “Future sight” to other schools in Anna Nagar as well.
