Dr Rao lectures on “Phacoemulsification in Complicated Cataracts”

Although Corneal Surgery is his area of specialization, Dr Srinivas K Rao is an accomplished Cataract surgeon,with over 20 years of experience. He was one of the first to start Phacoemulsification for cataracts in Chennai.

In addition to routine surgeries, he is also an expert in the management of patients with difficulties cataracts – in diabetics, with small pupils, , in pseudoexfoliation, and so on.

He also manages children and infants with cataract – having successfully performed surgery in children less than 1 month of age. He has also published articles on the implantation of IOLs in patients with previous complicated cataract surgery – using the technique scleral fixation.Recognizing his expertise in these areas, he was invited to lecture on Advanced Phacosurgery and the management of complications.
