In pursuit of this endeavour, we have now acquired the Orthoptek, a revolutionary modality in the treatment of amblyopia. The machine, pioneered by Dr. Santhanam Gopal, based out of Bangalore, aims to exercise parts of the child’s brain by stimulating the parvocellular and magnocellular pathways. The device aims to gradually improve, not just the monocular vision of the amblyopic/lazy eye, but also aims to improve 3 dimensional and stereoptic vision in children, thereby bringing about a noticeable improvement in both their quality of vision and quality of life
